GASTONIA--More than 50 military couples are one step closer to the wedding of their dreams, thanks to a wedding gown giveaway at a Gastonia bridal boutique Sunday. This is the second year the store Poffie Girls teamed up with Brides Across America to host an event.

Surrounded by dozens of other military brides, Army Specialist Beth Ann Griffin left Fort Bragg Saturday afternoon, to secure her spot in line at Poffie's Girls.

?All of my bridal party is clothed, the matron of honor, bridesmaids all have their dresses back, except me,? said Griffin.

Griffin and her fiance, Bryan's, love story, began in the military.

?We're both Blackhawk mechanics. Took me about six months, but finally got him to agree to go out with me and he's never left,? said Griffin.
They just returned from deployment together. During their year in Afghanistan, she'd work on planning her March wedding during her down time.

?It's just we had to wait to taste our wedding cake and wait to meet the woman who was going to do our flowers, so it's just a little bit more waiting,? said Griffin.

Georgia native Magali Pineda is getting married next October to an Airforce captain.

?He left in March, and he's actually in Germany on his way back and he'll be here on Tuesday,? said Pineda.
Sunday is her first day trying on dresses and also picking out shoes, a veil and jewelry, all for free.

?It's kind of slicing off a wedding dress which is pretty expensive when you add everything up,? said Pineda.

Those at Poffie Girls in Gastonia say while these items are free for the women, they pay in a different way.

?I think this gives myself and all of us who are helping today an opportunity to give back and support the men and women who are sacrificing their families, their times, and their lives for our freedom,? said Syble Latta, the owner of Poffie Girls.
With complications such as finances or deployments, this helps give these brides to be a chance to

?Military people sacrifice a lot and it's really something pretty significant that they're doing to help us all out and I think it's really great,? said Pineda.

Brides Across America was started in 2007, and has given away 5,000 dresses to military brides nationwide. This year, Poffie Girls has 73 dresses the girls can choose from, all donated from the store and some of their vendors.
