The Department of Health Behavior in the College of Public Health, at the University of Kentucky, is recruiting a tenure track Associate or Full Professor (rank based on qualifications). This person will be expected to help expand the research capacity of the Department and College. Applicants must have a PhD in Health Behavior or a closely aligned terminal degree, a strong publication record, a successful program of research that includes an established record of extramural research funding. Excellence in teaching is highly valued.
The Department of Health Behavior consists of eight faculty members with a variety of substantive interests and disciplinary backgrounds. There is considerable collaboration among faculty members within the Department and College and across Colleges within the University. There is also a strong history of multi-institutional collaboration on research. The University of Kentucky is located in the heart of the bluegrass region of the state and offers quiet country or more cosmopolitan living, depending on preference. Established in 2004 and accredited in 2005, the UK College of Public Health is dedicated to population-based approaches to improving the health of people in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond. In FY 2012, the College received nearly $31 million in new extramurally sponsored project awards and collaborative research funding. This research volume supports extensive engagement in rural regions of the state to address health disparities and service access as well as to generate health data supporting transdisciplinary research.
